State of Delaware Department of Insurance Requirements
  • Producers are required to complete 24 hours of continuing education every 2 years, including 3 hours of ethics.
  • Adjusters and producers licensed for over 25 years need only 12 credit hours every 2 years. 3 hours must be ethics.
  • Those newly licensed do not need to complete c.e. during the first renewal period.
  • Credits must be completed by February 28, of every even numbered year. i.e. 2008,2010,etc...
  • Exams are non-monitored exams.
  • Licensees may carry over a maximum of 5 credit hours (except for ethics hours).
  • Courses are repeatable every two years.
  • Licensees must turn in certification of course completion to the state no later than March 15th.
  • Failure to comply with c.e. results in a 12-month suspension of license and a fine of up to $2000.
